SEASIDE — Too many errors and missed serves cost the Seaside volleyball team Thursday night at the Gulls’ Nest, where the Cardinals outlasted the Gulls in four games, 26-24, 25-18, 26-28, 25-17.
“Corbett has a well-rounded team,” said Seaside coach Demi Lund. “Their setter can put the ball anywhere she wants to, and that kept us off balance. And they’ve got a great defense. They didn’t let anything hit the floor.”
For Seaside, “Morgan Blodgett was definitely our MVP tonight,” Lund said. “She played her best match of the season,” as the senior transfer from Warrenton led Seaside with 15 kills.
The Gulls finish nonleague play at 8-4 overall, ranked ninth in the latest OSAA rankings. Seaside begins Cowapa League play Tuesday at home vs. Astoria.
