Gearhart residents cherish their quiet residential community. Gearhart’s comprehensive plan is the blueprint guiding our mayor and City Council to keep Gearhart, Gearhart.

Developer Bob Morey and his allies, Pat Roberts and David Savinar, claim they have a different vision for Gearhart, but what is their vision? Morey owns the old Gearhart school and has proposed several different options that all require rezoning. For a man of vision, he sure changes his mind a lot.

Morey and his allies are holding open houses at the old Gearhart school, rather than a public location. Why?

We don’t need a mayor that has such a significant conflict of interest. We don’t need a mayor who is in it just to enrich himself. Will Morey, Roberts and Savinar adhere to the Gearhart Comprehensive Plan? I suspect not.

If you care about Gearhart, cast your vote for Kerry Smith for mayor, and Sharon Kloepfer and Paulina Cockrum for City Council. All three are strongly committed to Gearhart’s comprehensive plan and will be trusted and effective leaders for our community.
