Letter: Goodbye

For the past four years, I have subscribed to, and greatly enjoyed, the digital-only Seaside Signal. The cost for that subscription has been $48. Recently, I received a subscription renewal. The new annual rate is $91, a 90% increase?

Thinking this must be a mistake, I contacted the subscription department. The representative confirmed that the new rate of $91 was correct. When I asked why the rate was increased so much, she proceeded to tell me that I had been paying an “introductory” rate. Interesting, and very insulting.

Given the rising costs of many necessities over the last two years, a 90% rate hike for the Seaside Signal is not an expense I, and probably many other current customers, can afford. So, goodbye Seaside Signal, and good luck finding chumps to replace me.
