You know how sometimes in life you keep crossing paths with someone who sticks out in your mind? Tessa James Scheller has been one of those people in my life.

The first time we met was working in surgery on a weekend shift at a Portland hospital about 30 years ago. When I moved to the coast 24 years ago, we crossed paths again when our boats were at the same marina. In the ensuing years, we have kept crossing paths multiple times.

Each interaction I’ve had with Tessa has impressed me with what a caring person she is. Tessa not only cares, she listens carefully to what you say, and then she goes and gets things done. Tessa will make a great Clatsop County commissioner for District 2.
