Richard Warren Neuman

Richard Warren Neuman, 71, also known as “Rick” or “Ricky” to those who loved him, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 18.

Rick was born on Dec. 28, 1952, in Portland, to William Neuman and Ruth Kirtwright. Rick was the youngest of four siblings. He is survived by his father, Bill; sister, Carol Ryan; brother, Larry (and Lynda) Neuman; and sister, Linda (and Frank) Crockwell.

Rick loved surfing and had a passion for sharing his stoke. He passed that love of surfing onto his children, cousins and many others, who love the water because of him. Rick was well known for his woodworking, longboard skateboards and custom cabinets. He took a lot of pride in all of his craftsmanship.

Rick loved music and spinning vinyl records. He introduced all of his friends to what good music sounds like. He is remembered by the sound and rhythm of rock and roll.

Rick was a believer in Jesus Christ and is now surfing endless waves in heaven!

Rick married the love of his life, Lizbeth Sue Neuman, on Sept. 16, 1972. Together, Rick and Liz had five children; Christopher Warren, Jenny Ann, Rachel Nonny, Benjamin Love and Betsy Love. His extended family includes in-laws, Don Frank and Paloma Neuman; and grandchildren, Christian Warren, Julian Christopher, Bannon Blue and Mia Catherine.

Rick and Liz raised their family on the Oregon Coast in beautiful Cannon Beach.

Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth; his wife, Lizbeth; and son, Christopher.

Please join Rick’s family in a celebration of life from 1 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 30, at the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce, 207 N. Spruce St. in Cannon Beach.
