Letter: Angers me

The Dec. 15 article in the Seaside Signal regarding a Seaside councilman trying to ban two children’s books angers me. I would sure not listen to, or vote for, an adult who tries to stifle the growth of a child in this way. Shame on him!
“And Tango Makes Three” is a sweet, gentle book about caring, love and adoption. “When Aidan Became a Brother” is about a loving, supportive family, which many of us would be proud to be part of.
I appreciate my library and local book stores offering these books to our community. I don’t appreciate City Councilor Steve Dillard’s reference to them as “sexually explicit.” He needs to look up that definition. He’s very wrong.
Praise to the Seaside and Astoria parents who promote family love, support and encouragement. All humans flourish in this environment.
