The Seaside High School boys basketball team is starting to gel right in time for Cowapa League play.
Despite a 4-7 record, the Seagulls have played three complete games in a row. After beating Marist Catholic on Dec. 30, the Seagulls went 1-1 in Gladstone last weekend.
The Seagulls lost 55-52 to No. 7 ranked North Marion on Jan. 3, then throttled Stevenson High School of Washington State, 62-36, on Jan. 4. With Austin Palmer set to return this month, the Seagulls should start flying up the 4A rankings from their current No. 25 spot.
Seaside girls turn page to league
The Seaside girls completed the nonleague portion of their schedule with a 62-51 victory over North Marion on Jan. 3.
The win sees Seaside improve to 5-6 on the year and move up to No. 21 in the 4A rankings. The girls fell 53-43 to 4A No. 8 Marist Catholic on Dec. 30.
With league play next up, the Seagulls are hoping to find the consistently they’ve been looking for and make a run at another state playoff berth.
