Commercial Dungeness crab fishermen on the North Coast will have to wait until at least mid-January to start their season.

Preseason testing in Long Beach, Washington, showed crab meat fill below the threshold for commercial harvest. The season will be delayed from Cape Falcon to Klipsan Beach, Washington, until at least Jan. 15.

Commercial crab season opened Dec. 16 from Cape Falcon to the California border.
