Serving on the Gearhart City Council is an extremely important position. It requires time, dedicated people, communication and leadership skills. It’s a volunteer position.

Right now, Gearhart needs someone who has all of these qualities. We need to get past childish games, challenging legally registered voters, fake gun threats and open harassment of residents by our council because they were strong enough to publicly disagree with them.

Paulina Cockrum, as mayor, you openly left meetings about the 2022 fire bond measure — which ultimately was defeated by a two-thirds vote — when questions became uncomfortable for you to answer. When it became too hot in the kitchen for you after the failed bond measure, you resigned! Gearhart deserves better.

Paulina, you have had three tries at City Council. You meant well, and failed.

I am asking you to withdraw your candidacy for City Council. We need strong leadership now, more than ever. Vote for David Savinar!
