Prep Roundup: Seaside football flies past Milwaukie

Despite his team being on a three-game losing streak, Seaside High School head coach Aaron Tanabe remained confident. Oct. 11 against Milwaukie showed that the Seagulls are right where they need to be.

The Seagulls put up their most complete performance of the season as they flew past the Mustangs, 42-15.

Seaside flexed early in the game as they took a 28-0 lead into the halftime locker room. The Seagulls added another touchdown before Milwaukie scored their first points.

It was a great effort on both sides of the football as the Seagulls offense put up 318 yards and had a defensive touchdown. Ryder Jackson had 241 total yards and three touchdowns on 16 touches. Jackson had 138 yards rushing and 103 yards receiving on the night. Quarterback Zayden Anderson was 5/8 for 160 yards and three touchdowns through the air and sophomore Brayden Cooley had an interception for a touchdown.

Seaside girls soccer on the board

After three losses to start league play, Seaside High School girls soccer is on the board after they defeated Tillamook 2-0 on Oct. 12.

Seaside suffered a tough 2-0 loss to St. Helens on Oct. 9. The Seagulls created more chances, but just weren’t able to connect on the final pass to get the ball in the back of the net.

Seaside boys soccer falls to Tillamook

Defending Cowapa League champions Tillamook are showing they’re still the team to beat in boys soccer. The Cheesemakers 2-0 victory against Seaside High School on Oct. 12 puts them in the driver’s seat to win league once again as they dispatched their closest competitor.

The Seaside loss followed a 4-2 triumph against St. Helens on Oct. 9.

Seaside volleyball falls short

Despite playing three quality sets against Tillamook, Seaside High School volleyball fell short on Oct. 8.

The Cheesemakers won set one by a score of 25-21, the second set, 25-22, and the third set, 25-23.

Jewell volleyball sees winning streak snapped

Willamette Valley Christian snapped Jewell’s two-game winning streak with a straight-set victory Oct. 8.

The Warriors of Willamette Valley won set one 25-8, the second set, 25-14 and set three, 25-20.
