The Seaside Public Library will welcome author Jerry Sutherland on Nov. 9 for a talk on his book, “Bayocean: Atlantis of Oregon.”

The book chronicles the creation and eventual demise of a community built on the 4-mile-long spit that protects Tillamook Bay from the Pacific Ocean.

Held at 2 p.m. in the Community Room, the talk will focus on Sutherland’s exploration into the half-century the Oregon resort town existed, the people involved and its financial and physical end.
