Letter: Solution

I am writing in response to the article on the pending closure of the Peace First Early Learning Center. I feel shocked, to say the least. Has anyone thought of a simple solution that has rather positive effects in all ways?
Since the church has been such a positive support to Astoria — with a free child care location for one thing plus, I am certain, nameless other services, as well, by existing loving-hearted volunteers — what about Astoria citizens, social services and local government, regardless of faith or parties, pitching in to support the church’s expenses to continue to exist, and to contribute, without having to sell?

I am sure, with all of the contributing great minds and open hearts in our compassionate society, some solutions may come up to make it not only possible, but also socially and financially responsible, to care not only for the sake of the church — a caring institution — but for one another, including babies, mothers, families who need care.
