Letter: The right candidate

I had the privilege of meeting Anthony Huacuja and his fiancée when they settled on the North Coast almost a decade ago. I was impressed with how quickly he embraced our way of life, without seeking to change it.
We have had multiple conversations on what makes our little corner of the world unique — from fishing and hunting, to logging and farming. I must say, Anthony gets it, and understands that our natural resource industries are the backbone of this county.
Anthony is a registered nurse by trade, and runs a small, family farm. In his spare time, he volunteers as a rescue diver for the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office, and serves on the Warrenton-Hammond School District’s budget committee.
To top it off, Anthony and Bianca rescue pets in need, and help with home placements based on their situations. His care and compassion cannot be measured.
Anthony is always willing to hear all sides of an issue, using his collaboration of thoughts and ideas to make up his own mind. I must say some of his conclusions have made me wonder why I didn’t see it that way in the first place.
Our county needs his level head and analytical way of thinking, along with his youthful enthusiasm. I know if elected, Anthony will bring his hard work ethic and dedication to the Clatsop County commissioners’ office. Let’s keep common sense with no hidden agendas in our commissioners’ office.
I view Anthony as the right and only choice for District 2 commissioner.
