Obituary: Robert Lee Dunton

On July 3, 1952, Robert Lee Dunton was born in Deming, New Mexico.

He had many special people in his life who cared for him, from the age of 14 until he graduated from Seaside High School in 1971.

Growing up, Bob worked many different jobs.

One of his favorite involved helping with music at Lighthouse Christian Church.

He could talk your ear off about radios when he worked with Frank Furnish on Megler Mountain in Washington state.

He met the love of his life at Bumble Bee Seafoods in 1977. Three years later, they married on Sept. 2, 1982, at the Lighthouse Christian Church. They had been married for 411/2 years, with two wonderful kids.

He loved his daily routines of coffee and going to the Cove to watch the ocean, spending his time with family and taking his wife on many car trips or mini-vacations.

He loved wearing his Hawaiian shirts.

He was stubborn at times after he retired in 2019.

On the evening of Feb. 21, Robert Dunton passed away peacefully in his bed at home, leaving this world behind to always watch over his family. His love for his wife and two kids is everlasting.

He has requested that his service be held at the Lighthouse Christian Church, 88786 Dellmoor Loop in Warrenton, where his whole family grew up. His celebration of life will be held there at noon on April 7.
