Letter: Will listen

For the May election, I and other voters living in Clatsop County District 2 want a county commissioner who will listen to our concerns and lead with integrity. There is no one better suited for the commissioner position than Tessa Scheller.
Tessa started life in service to our country as an U.S. Army medic; in the past 40 years Tessa has worked to serve folks in Clatsop County as a nurse anesthetist and on various boards and committees. There is not an issue Tessa hasn’t delved into and worked on diligently for our community — from public health, to education, to land use planning and housing.
She even served on the Clatsop Soil & Water Conservation District, Skipanon Water Control District and the Oregon Department of Transportation regional committee. She knows every inch of the county and has worked side by side with folks on any number of problems. Tessa has a history of working collaboratively with local and state officials.
When I have talked with Tessa, what has really struck a chord with me, aside from the depth of her experience, is her passion in helping folks and creating a sense of community and belonging for everyone. She talks about her joy as a nurse in being able to be part of births. She loved working with students at the community college. Folks in our community know they can count on Tessa to help take on government agencies when needed.
This May, please vote for Tessa Scheller for county commissioner.
