About 250 people watched as three local young women took home pageant titles at the Miss Clatsop County Scholarship Pageant on Feb. 24 at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center, advancing them to the state competition in June.
Twenty-year-old Lilly Boothe, of Clatskanie, took home top awards in interview and eveningwear on her way to being named Miss Clatsop County 2024, as well as receiving the Miss Congeniality Award and the Chef John Newman Community Service Initiative Award, earning $1,900 in scholarships.
She previously held the same title in 2022 and was also Miss Clatsop County Teen 2019. Boothe started participating in the Miss Clatsop County Scholarship Program as a princess in 2013.
Winning the Miss Clatsop County Teen 2024 title was 14-year-old Shaelyn Bangs. She will receive a total of $700 in scholarships after winning Teen Interview, and was one of three teens rewarded with the Chef John Newman Community Service Initiative Award.
Seventeen-year-old Savana Pedraza, of Seaside, won the Teen Talent Competition on her way to being named Miss North Coast Teen 2024. She was also one of the three teens winning the Community Service Initiative Award, earning a total of $700 in scholarships. She served as the official North Coast Princess in 2016.
Runner-up in the teen division was 13-year-old Clatskanie resident Daisy McCalmon, who also won the Teen Fitness Award and the Four Points of the Crown Success Award, given for being the most timely in paperwork/documentation and attending the most practices. She earned a total of $550 in scholarships.
All nonfinalists were given $100 scholarships. Those receiving additional scholarships were Savannah Bigelow, who received both the Service and Scholarship awards in the Four Points of the Crown, and the final Teen Community Service Initiative Winner, giving her an additional $500 in scholarships.
Josie Morinville won the Miss Talent Scholarship for a $100 scholarship, and the Four Points of the Crown Style Award went to Lizzi Rocha for $200.
Giving up their titles on stage on Feb. 24 were Miss Clatsop County Gracie Weaver and Miss North Coast Teen Milly McCalmon. Also onstage were Miss Oregon 1984, Renee Bably Cleland, and reigning Miss Oregon Teen Lena Larecy, who served as co-emcees.
