A small street sweeper is back to sweeping the streets of Seaside, now freshly adorned with decals displaying a new name thoughtfully gifted by a group of Pacific Ridge Elementary School students.

Community Development Director Jeff Flory and his wife, Kelley Flory, who is a third grade teacher at the school, wanted to give her class a presentation with the street sweeper to showcase various jobs that need to be done in the community.

The students discovered that they would get to name the street sweeper themselves.

Eventually, the class decided to name the sweeper “Lil’ Creeper Sweeper.”

Runner-up names included “Sparkly White Truck,” “Mr. Haba Haba” and “Sally the Sweeper.”

Assistant principal Jeremy Catt said it was important to the students to feel like their voices had an impact on the community.
