Our beloved brother, John C. Horne, left this earth to join our Heavenly Father on Sept. 22.

John was a remarkable brother, and a courageous fighter until the end. He was good-natured, and made many friends in his lifetime. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

John was No. 7 of 11 children born to Bob and Pat Horne on Sept. 11, 1957, in the Tri-Cities, Washington.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Pam and Joan.

John is survived by eight brothers and sisters, Pat, Kathy, Steve, Dave, Dan, Shelly, Mike and Shannon; three children, Eric, Austin and Olivia; his pride and joy, his grandson, Weston; and “his lady,” Cathie Cates.

When growing up, John attended Saint Patrick’s School, and later graduated from Pasco (Washington) Senior High School.

He owned Horne Construction LLC, and built homes in the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla, Washington. He also worked at Hanford, Washington, and Providence Hospital before moving to Oregon. John transferred to Seaside to continue working for Providence Seaside Hospital as a patient transporter.

John requested a private scattering of his ashes with his children.

All family and friends are invited to join the celebration of life for John from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 28 at the Bob Chisholm Community Center, 1225 Avenue A in Seaside.
