Linda Smith

Linda Lorraine Smith passed away peacefully at her home in Gearhart.

Linda was born to Ruby and Lowell Cook Sr. on Aug. 18, 1948, in Vancouver, Washington. She lived in White Salmon, Washington, until they moved to Seaside when she was 17.

She went to Seaside High School, where she met Victor Smith. They got married after high school. They later divorced, but remained close friends.

She is survived by three sons, Lee Smith, born in 1971; Christopher Smith, born in 1978; and Adam Smith, born in 1982, and his wife, Brenna. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Avery, Justice and Ruby; and a grandson, Austin.

Also surviving are two half brothers, Lowell Cook and Donny Metcalf; three half sisters, Ginnie Rimestad, Charlot Simonds and Theresa Sprando; along with countless cousins, nieces and nephews. Countless loving and loyal friends and extended family survive her as well, through her faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, which she has faithfully been part of for over 50 years.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, at 2667 Highway 101 North in Seaside. Come enjoy friends, family and desserts as we remember a remarkable woman.
