After beating La Salle 37-0 a year ago, the La Salle Falcons gave the Seaside Gulls a much tougher game on Sept. 8 at Broadway Field. Seaside managed to hold on for a 29-17 nonleague football win.

La Salle was within 22-17 in the fourth quarter, before Seaside’s Jake White scored his third touchdown of the night on a 34-yard run to ice the win.

White had scoring runs of 40 and 36 yards in the second half, and finished with 210 yards rushing. Teammate Ryder Jackson gained 107 yards on seven attempts, and quarterback Diego Sanchez completed all four of his passes for 108 yards.

Seaside improved to 1-1 on the young season. The Gulls face Class 5A Hillsboro (1-1) on Friday.
