Pauline Leathum Reiter, of Beaverton, passed away peacefully on Aug. 2 at the age of 88.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert Reiter.
She is survived by their children, Debra Schmunk, of Hillsboro, Jim Wakeman, of Bandon, Brent Wakeman, of Renton, Washington, John Reiter, of Bend, Cathy Reiter, of Chicago, Jim Reiter, of Vancouver, Don Swanson, of Vancouver, and Floyd Holcom, of Astoria; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Marilynn Fredette, of Salt Lake City, and Charlotte Gronmark, of Salt Lake City.
Pauline was born on May 7, 1935, in Rexburg, Idaho. Her family moved to Gearhart when she was a baby.
After graduating from Seaside High School, Pauline married James Wakeman, who died in a logging accident in 1959.
Pauline worked at the Par-Tee Room of Seaside Golf Course and Bell Buoy of Seaside before retiring.
She enjoyed traveling and fishing of any kind. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and loved hosting get-togethers with family and friends.
A memorial service and celebration will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 30 in the McTavish Room of the Liberty Theatre in Astoria. All family, friends and acquaintances are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clatsop County Animal Shelter.
