Beach Books hosts Anna Quinn, author of “Angeline and The Night Child,” as the inaugural speaker at “Bites on the Balcony,” on May 31 at 6:30 p.m.

“Angeline and the Night Child” tells the story of a very conservative young woman who becomes a nun to atone for a family tragedy caused. However, she struggles when she is sent to a Northwest convent of unconventional, feminist nuns striving to make their community a more welcoming and inclusive place.

Quinn is the founder of The Writers’ Workshoppe in Port Townsend, Washington, and has 30 years of experience teaching and leading writing workshops across the country.

The free monthly event features snacks and popular authors from the Pacific Northwest. Beach Books is located at 616 Broadway in Seaside.
