Letter: Extreme

An open letter to state Sen. Suzanne Weber: Why are you suing fellow legislators with an extreme anti-abortion group contesting legislation that would allow a 10-year-old child to get an abortion without her parents even knowing about it?
A 10-year-old child cannot consent to sexual intercourse, so a pregnant 10 year old is the victim of sexual assault. A 10-year-old child cannot, nor should they be expected to, bring a pregnancy to term or give birth safely. A 10-year-old child in need of an abortion may have been sexually assaulted by a parent or another relative, and their parents may be fully aware of how they became impregnated.
Do you believe that your constituents, especially those who voted for you, want you to be spending your time on this? Please clarify.
Meanwhile, the people you represent have serious problems that need to be addressed, such as: A transportation district that has suddenly ceased to exist; an exploding unhoused population; and families experiencing dire food insecurity.
What do you have to say for yourself and your fellow Republican colleagues?
