I want to thank all the citizens who have supported me and the police department throughout my career. Without you, my job would have been much more difficult. Citizens who understand that law enforcement do not create the laws but have to find a balanced way of enforcing them  are very important to us in law enforcement.

I truly believe that you can help keep Gearhart a beautiful place. Not by being part of the problem, but by being part of the solution is how we all move forward.

I have one request before I end my tour of duty, and that is to support Sgt. Ian Brown. He has a difficult job to do, not only because he will be the only full-time law enforcement officer for the time being, but because law enforcement’s role within today’s society has become more difficult. I will support him any way that I am able to. I may not wear a law enforcement uniform after today, but I will continue to support law enforcement. Support the blue.
