County assist
Gearhart Police Chief Jeff Bowman stepped down this week and Gearhart continues to have a vacancy both for his replacement and a patrol officer.
Recruiters expect to have police chief candidate semifinalists this month, The Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office will provide augmented law enforcement services to Gearhart while the city works to shore up staff at the police department.
