Board president Katharine Parker is seeking reelection for her Position 5 seat with the Sunset Empire Park and Recreation District.

In February, Kyle Gorman announced he will run for the Position 4 seat. Both Parker and Gorman’s terms expire June 30.

Parker is the head secretary for Seaside High School and has served on the park district board since December 2019. She was appointed to fill the unexpired Position 5 term of Lindsey Morrison, who resigned from the board.

Parker was elected in 2021 to fill the remaining two years of the term.

Gorman took the oath of office in October, among four candidates seeking to replace Erika Hamer-Marshall, who resigned in August.

Gorman, who is retired, was the executive officer for Clackamas County Fire. He is a member of Seaside’s Community Emergency Response Team.

The filing deadline is March 16.
