The Friends of Hamlet Fire Protection District are hosting a bottle drive to raise funds for a heating system for the Necanicum Schoolhouse. The schoolhouse will be operated as a community center and emergency shelter.

Bottles can be dropped off at milepost 8 on U.S. Highway 26 at the schoolhouse. Visit Saturdays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a tour of work in progress. Call John Benson at 503-738-5925 for more information.
