The North Coast Symphonic Band opens its 43nd season with “Strike Up the Band: Fall to Winter,” on Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Liberty Theater in Astoria. Terry Dahlgren returns as the band’s conductor.

The program features several pieces that reflect the region’s Nordic heritage, including “Land of the Midnight Sun” by Robert Buckley, “Nordic Fanfare and Hymn” by Jacob de Haan and “Voyage of the Northern Lights” composed by Warrenton High School graduate Isabella Piritta Morrill. North Coast Symphonic Band Board President Brian Bergman will be the concert’s emcee.
