- Seaside players exited the locker rooms in Seaside’s 28-0 win over Astoria. The Gulls defeated St. Helens on the road on Oct. 29 and head to Mazama for the Class 4A state playoffs.
Seaside took its first road trip in over a month on Oct. 30, and the Gulls showed they can win on the road just as easily as they win at home.
Jake White scored five touchdowns, and Seaside cruised past St. Helens 32-16 to close out the Cowapa League football season.
The Gulls move on to the Class 4A state playoffs, where Seaside will play Nov. 5 at No. 1 ranked Mazama.
White rushed 31 times for 291 yards, with his best four-minute sequence coming in the second quarter, when he ran for a 38-yard touchdown with 10:25 left in the first half, intercepted a pass four plays later, then scored on a 5-yard run at the 6:31 mark.
Teammate Jordan Westerholm intercepted a pass late in the first half, and White added scoring runs of 34 and 13 yards in the third quarter.
Seaside had 382 yards in total offense, to St. Helens’ 373.
