Welcome to the Seaside Signal.
Ballots go out this week and now is time to familiarize yourself with the candidates in Seaside. City Council President Steve Wright is running unopposed for mayor. Steve Dillard is the sole candidate in Ward 1 after Duane Solem left the race. City Councilor Tita Montero, who was appointed and first elected to the City Council in 2010, will run for reelection to a fourth term in Ward 2. She will face Dan Schorr, a former project manager. The contenders to replace Phillips in Wards 3 and 4 are Seth Morrisey, a former city councilor; Seamus McVey, who works with people struggling with addiction, mental illness and homelessness; and Marcus Runkle, the owner of a consulting firm.
