Here’s a feel-good story in Seaside. Back in July, 82-year-old Gerry Siegmann, 82, was robbed of more than $1,000 at the Seaside Farmers Market.Hohl, a market vendor with Coin Toss Brewing based in Oregon City, joined with others to make things right for Siegmann. On the market’s last day, he passed Siegmann a check for the lost funds. Read more here.

Roadwork ahead
If you notice traffic ahead on U.S. Highway 101, that’s a good thing. After many years of planning and preparation upgrades will begin from Avenue A to Avenue K, some of Seaside’s most problematic intersections.
Time to prepare
It’s emergency preparedness Month and the great National Shakeout. About 20 minutes after the initial ground shaking from a Cascadia Subduction Zone event, a tsunami will, with high probability, hit the coast and inundate the North Coast.
Take the time to familiarize yourself with what will happen in a Cascadia Subduction Zone seismic event, and be prepared. The Seismic Resiliency and Mitigation Plan is the second of a two-part project completed for the city by Civil West Engineering. It will be before the City Council on Wednesday. Read more here.
