Symphonic band announces season schedule

The North Coast Symphonic Band celebrates its 43rd season with a series of four concerts at the Liberty Theater in Astoria.
Terry Dahlgren assumes his role as conductor and musical director for the 2022-23 season. Dahlgren retired as an award-winning music educator in the Seaside School District and was guest conductor for the symphonic band last April.
Concert themes for this season include, “Strike up the Band, Fall to Winter” on Nov. 20, “Heroes, Legends, Myths, and Villains” on Feb. 23, “Jazz, Pop, Rock and Roll” on April 23, and “An American Celebration” on July 3.
There are openings for clarinet and percussion. Musicians interested in joining should email Lee Stromquist at encore1@charter.net or call 503-861-1328. Rehearsals are from 7-9 p.m. on Monday nights at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts in Astoria.
