Karbo exhibits work at Trail’s End in Gearhart

The Trail’s End Art Association will open a new show for July featuring member Kathy Karbo with “Pulse: Paper Play.” At a reception on July 2, during the Gearhart Art Walk, 2 to 5 p.m., where Karbo will demonstrate her techniques. The show will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., from July 1 to July 23.
Karbo has worked as a performing and visual artist for over 35 years.
Basketry was her entrance to the world of art and craft. From there, her affinity for sculpture has led her to explore book arts, fiber arts, puppetry, mosaic and metal arts. Her work has won awards and been exhibited both nationally and in Canada. Karbo will teach “Eye Candy: Paper Sculpture,” at the art association in August.
She has taught at Sitka Center for the Arts and Ecology, the Newport Paper, and Book Arts festival, TEAA in Gearhart and Astor Elementary School.
Trail’s End is the oldest nonprofit art association of its kind on the Coast. In addition to new gallery shows of original art that changes monthly, there is also an entry gallery featuring prints, greeting cards, jewelry, pottery and more.
