The Seaside Public Library presents an exhibit original photography pieces by Kelly Grothe through Aug. 30. The pieces feature various landscape and wilderness images from around the North Coast. The show is displayed in the community room and foyer.

Grothe’s love of landscape and wildlife photography began in 2006 when he visited Brazil and saw the beautiful surroundings of the countryside. Since then, he has grown to enjoy being in the outdoors and finding himself looking at his surroundings differently. He enjoys the color of nature found in a sunrise or sunset, the changing colors of the trees in the fall, as well as the peaceful singing of the birds in the trees.

Kelly Grothe was born in Roseau, Minnesota, into a family with five siblings and moved to Astoria when he was a teenager. He lives in Astoria with his wife and enjoys spending time with their two adult children as well as pursuing his creative endeavors which also includes wood working.

The Seaside Public Library is located at 1131 Broadway. For more information call 503-738-6742 or visit www.seasidelibrary.org
