Oregon State Police
Soul leaves roadway
A Kalama, Washington, woman crashed her car on U.S. Highway 101 by milepost 23 May 24 at 2:47 p.m. Her Kia Soul left the roadway while she was negotiating a curve and landed in a ditch. Seaside firefighters, ODOT and Medix were on scene. Gary’s Tow extricated the Kia and towed it from the scene. The woman was uninjured.
Two-car collision
A Seaside woman was involved in a collision May 25 at 3:57 p.m., on U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 8. Her car collided with another car; both drivers refused medical treatment. One car was able to drive away from the scene. The other car was towed by Classic Towing.
Suspicious vehicle
Police went to Del Rey State Park beach access May 25 at 11:43 p.m. to identify a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. They made contact with two occupants inside the vehicle, one had an active warrant for his arrest issued by Multnomah County circuit court for assault in the fourth degree. The individual, Dakota Eugene Murphy, 25 from Portland, was cited and released.
Crashes into tree
A Yakima, Washington, woman was involved in a single-vehicle crash May 26 ay 3:13 p.m. on U.S. Highway 26 at milepost 13. She attempted to slow down to pull off onto a shoulder, but didn’t have enough space to slow down or stop. Her car left the shoulder at highway speed, crashing into a tree after traveling a short distance. ODOT pulled her car off the shoulder. The car didn’t have to be towed. She wasn’t injured.
Driving under the influence
Bruce Lee Miller, 28, from Seaside, was arrested May 26 ay 6:16 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 16.5, charged with driving under the influence of cannabis and controlled substances. He was pulled over for a moving violation. Miller was transported to the Clatsop County jail where he was booked and released. A passenger took responsibility for the vehicle.
Warrant arrest
Richard Matthew Stewart, 40, from Coos Bay, was arrested May 27 at 10:45 p.m. after committing a traffic violation on Broadway Street in Seaside. A traffic stop was conducted and it was soon learned there was a warrant out for his arrest; Stewart was transported to the county jail where he was cited and released. Police gave him a courtesy ride to his residence.
Vehicle break-in
On June 1 at 9:07 p.m., police took a report of a vehicle break-in at Hug Point State Park. A window was smashed and a Glock 19 was stolen. Police are waiting on obtaining the serial number on the pistol to enter it as stolen. The property owner is a 44-year-old man from Eugene.
Beach disturbance
Police went to Del Rey Beach June 2 at 10:12 p.m., for a reported disturbance. On arrival, it was determined five people were drinking and driving on the beach when the operator of the vehicle became upset and began fighting with his girlfriend and other passengers. Joseph Michael Winn, 24, was arrested for driving while intoxicated; he was also charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, domestic assault and menacing. He was transported to the Clatsop County jail where he provided a breath sample of .013% blood alcohol content. His Dodge Durango was towed by Gary’s Tow. The victim of his assault is a 21-year-old from Scappoose.
Minor damage
A Ford pick-up was struck from behind by a Chevrolet Silverado June 3 at 1:23 p.m., on U.S. Highway 101 by Perkins Lane. Minor damage was sustained to both vehicles. The Chevy driver didn’t have a license and was cited and released. Both drivers exchanged information.
Wanted on warrant
Benjamin Aiden Morris, 18 from Seaside, was arrested June 3 at 6:36 p.m., on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 17 during a traffic stop after committing a traffic violation near milepost 19. He could not provide identification, but provided police with his name and date of birth. A records return showed he was wanted for arrest on a warrant. He was transported to the county jail. His car was driven from the scene by a licensed driver.
Impaired driving
Mackenzie Alaga, 22, from Seaside, was arrested June 3 at 11:33 p.m., on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 21, charged with driving while intoxicated. While on patrol, police saw her committing a traffic violation. When she was pulled over, she seemed impaired. She was transported to the Seaside police headquarters where she provided a breath sample showing .28% blood alcohol content. She was issued criminal citations and released to sober individuals who drove the car from the scene.

Warrant citation
While on routine patrol June 8 at 8:26 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 18 state police saw a red Toyota Camry with expired registration tags. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Alexandria Elisabeth Holloway, 34, from Astoria, was found to have an active misdemeanor warrant out of the Clatsop County Circuit Court. She was issued a citation and a court date.
Parked in right of way
On June 11 at 4:11 p.m., Holloway was seen again by patrol on U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 15. A traffic stop was conducted and she was cited for driving without insurance and the expired registration sticker. Her car was parked in the ODOT right of way. Troopers impounded her vehicle and had it towed by Classic Towing.
Three-car collision
A three-car collision was reported June 11 at 5:56 p.m., at U.S. Highway 101 at Glenwood Village Lane. A pickup truck rear-ended a Kia which caused the Kia to rear-end a Jeep stopped for traffic behind a sedan about to make a turn into Glenwood Village. All the cars were able to be driven from the scene. Two of the involved drivers were from Seaside. The Warrenton Fire Department was on scene. No injuries were reported.
Impairment
Cindy Jo Bell, 59, from Astoria, was arrested June 11 at 11:04 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 19, charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. Police saw her traveling at a high rate of speed and failure to maintain her lane. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver showed signs of impairment. She consented to standardized field tests and was subsequently arrested and taken to the county jail where she submitted to a chemical test. She was released to jail staff and her car was towed from the scene by Classic Towing.
