Distribution at local outlets, more seating outside and a spiffy new interior and seating are among the upgrades at Bagels by the Sea, the South Holladay Drive destination cafe and coffee shop now owned by Masudur Khan of Khan Properties.
Early this year Khan Properties purchased Bagels by the Sea for $1.2 million from Sea Star Associates’ Kathryn and Tracey Johnson.
Khan debuted the renovated property last Wednesday with the Seaside Chamber of Commerce, accompanied by his wife, Taslema Sultana, of Haystack Lodging, business analyst Asrar Farooqui, engineer Mark Mead among others.
Khan said he plans to add staff to extend business hours to 4 p.m., and possibly longer on the weekend. “We used to distribute to stores throughout the region,” he said. “We plan on doing that again.”
Outdoor tables and fire pits will make the exterior area accessible most of the year. The menu will see daily specials and a kids’ selection, he added.
