Due to a surge of COVID-19 cases, masks are required statewide in all indoor spaces, effective Friday.
At the Sunset Empire Park and Recreation District, this requirement is for all staff and patrons, regardless of vaccination status.
• Masks are required for all patrons and staff while indoors. Exceptions to the requirement are for patrons who are swimming or in an aquatic activity. Other fitness activities do not qualify for exemption from the mandate, meaning at indoor fitness class participants and staff need to be masked unless they are in the water.
• This requirement includes youth program staff and children enrolled in youth programs. However, youth program staff and enrolled children do not have to wear masks while outdoors or while eating or drinking.
• Staff who work in a private office setting where social distancing can be maintained are not required to wear a mask unless they are in close proximity with another staff or patron.
• Staff and patrons traveling in a District vehicle with another person should wear a mask.
• Staff do not have to wear a mask while working outside, provided that they can socially distance from other staff, patrons, and the general public.
