April 23
5:48 p.m., 1300 block E. Pine Drive: A disturbance is reported.
April 24
10:14 p.m., 2300 block S. Roosevelt: A disturbance is reported.
11:45 p.m., 900 block Beach Drive: A caller reports someone screaming in the area. Police are unable to locate.
April 26
10:09 p.m., Fourth and Necanicum: Subjects reported sleeping in their vehicle parked on the side of the road for several nights tell police they’re ready to move along.
11:09 p.m., 1000 block S. Holladay: A disturbance is reported. Police say the argument was verbal in nature only.
April 27
1:07 p.m., 1900 block Spruce Drive: Parties reported arguing loudly are advised of the complaint and agree to calm down.
12:17 p.m., Police headquarters: A person came in to register as a sex offender.
1:46 p.m. 1600 block Huckleberry Drive: A deceased person is reported.
3:33 p.m., 2100 block Lewis and Clark Road: An assault is reported.
4:51 p.m., Library: Teens reported fighting behind the library tell police they were only play-fighting. They are advised of disorderly conduct for causing public alarm.
April 28
6:13 a.m., Holladay Drive: Caller wishes to report a dog bite incident that happened the day before.
April 29
6:49 a.m., 12th and Queen: Officer locates reported found used needles and disposes of them.
7:16 a.m., 2100 block S. Downing: A dog is reported barking all night. Police left a business card for the residence owner.
3:45 p.m., 300 block S. Roosevelt: A subject reported yelling obscenities and swinging a bat is cited for disorderly conduct.
4:20 p.m., Chambers Parking Lot: A car reported as abandoned junk police say has only been parked in the area for one hour.
7:55 p.m., Mill Creek Lane: A disturbance is reported.
10:16 p.m., 1100 block N. Roosevelt: A couple of people using marijuana reported using drugs behind a closed business are warned of the laws and regulations. They will be moving on, they said.

Oregon State Police
Fell asleep
Oregon State Police responded to a one-car crash April 21 at 12:25 a.m. on U.S. Highway 26 near milepost 5.5. They saw a Toyota in a shallow ditch. The driver, a 30-year-old male from Seaside, said he fell asleep and drove off the roadway. The car was observed resting on its top, but neither the driver or his canine companion were injured. The driver called AAA prior to police arrival and Classic Towing arrived to recover the car. Troopers are requesting the DMV evaluate the driver due to medical conditions.
Car on fire
A Warrenton man traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 15 April 22 at 12:48 a.m., told police his engine caught fire, he pulled over, and his car was soon engulfed in flames. The Gearhart fire department responded and put the fire out. Classic Towing towed the car away at the owner’s request. No injuries were reported.
Impaired driving
Jesus Amezcua Martinez, 21, of Seaside, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants April 23 at 7:40 p.m., on U.S. Highway 101 near 16th Avenue in Seaside. Although he displayed signs of impairment, he refused to take the standardized field test. He was arrested on scene and taken to the county jail where he provided a breath sample of .13% blood alcohol content.
Trouble at Arcadia State Park
Police assisted an older couple from Washington on April 25 at 4:40 p.m., after they reported someone broke three windows of their Honda CRV and stole things stowed in the car. While police were taking their report, they began getting phone notifications their bank cards were being used in Seaside stores. Police are investigating.
Two cars roll over in crash
State police responded to a report of a two-car rollover crash on U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 27.5 April 28 at 2:24 p.m. While traveling southbound, the operator of one car passed out while behind the wheel, drifting into the northbound lane and narrowly missing hitting another vehicle. The driver of this vehicle swerved to avoid collision but the two crashed, causing both cars to rollover into the northbound shoulder. Emergency personnel arrived on scene to evaluate the drivers, two Portland men, one 69, the other 28. The older man was transported to the hospital. A citation was given to the other driver for reasons not given. Both cars were towed from the scene by Gary’s Towing.
Three hurt in crash
Three people were injured in a crash April 29 on U.S. Highway 101 about three miles north of Gearhart. Police said a vehicle heading southbound collided into a vehicle that failed to yield the right of way while turning onto the highway. The occupants in both vehicles were taken to the hospital with injuries.
No ID
A Milwaukie man pulled over for driving under the speed limit May 1 at 8:59 p.m. on U.S. Highway 26 near milepost five did not have identification on him but provided his name and date of birth. A DMV check revealed a warrant for his arrest out of Washington County. After the warrant was confirmed by the issuing agency, he was cited and released.
Assault
A 49-year-old Lapine man told police May 2 at 7:22 p.m. he was assaulted. He said he was driven to the area of Black Bridge by a woman and soon after assaulted by two men who arrived in a separate vehicle and the woman who drove him. Police located him on U.S. Highway 26 near milepost 5. He was transported by Medix to Seaside Providence Hospital for treatment. An initial investigation confirmed the victim and the woman, who is 24-years-old, have a shared history of domestic violence. The victim provided police with the name of one of his male assailants, a 61-year-old Seaside man.
Gearhart fire
A fire in an apartment building in Gearhart April 17 displaced eight occupants, two dogs and one cat. There were no injuries to residents or first responders According to Gearhart Fire Department Lt. James Hutchinson, the fire was reported at 11:29 a.m. and originated in the rear of 1837 Pine Ridge Drive. Cause was determined to be an accident because of heat from a propane barbecue. The fire was controlled in 21 minutes by responding fire crews, including Gearhart, Seaside Fire and Rescue, Medix Ambulance and Gearhart Police Department. Occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross.
