Most Seaside city offices are closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, city officials announced Tuesday.

The action comes in response to guidance from the Clatsop County Health Department, the Oregon Health Authority, and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Seaside Public Library is closed through March 30. Staff will continue to work and digital services remain available.

Seaside fire and police department offices are closed to the public until further notice.

City Hall and public works offices are not closed, although officials recommend people stay home and call rather than visit.

City Council will conduct their regular meeting, Monday, March 23. The public meeting will be conducted in council chambers in City Hall at 989 Broadway with limited seating. To adhere to the social distancing recommendation, the public is advised to stay home and not attend the meeting unless to discuss one of the agenda items.

The following committees, commission, and board meetings have been canceled through the end of the month: Tuesday’s Planning Commission work session; Wednesday’s Tourism Advisory Committee meeting and City Tree Board; Thursday’s Transportation and Advisory Committee meeting and Airport Advisory Committee.

Also canceled is the March 30 City Council/Friends of the Library workshop.
