Rodney Roberts stepped down from the Sunset Empire Park and Recreation District Board of Directors. The resignation is due to personal reasons, Roberts said in an email, and effective immediately.
In February 2019 Roberts temporarily filled the vacant Position 5 seat.
He ran unsuccessfully for reelection in May but was selected to the vacant board Position 1 seat left by Veronica Russell in August.
A former sheriff, Roberts is now retired.
The resignation was accepted by board members Jeremy Mills, John Chapman, Mike Hinton and Katharine Parker at the district’s March 17 meeting.
The board will meet Tuesday, April 7, to discuss potential replacements, the park district’s executive director Skyler Archibald said. Interviews could be held April 14, to install the new member by the board’s first budget meeting on April 21.
Resumes and applications are invited, Archibald said.
