- Jody Whitehead Conser and Dan Nelson of Diamond Heating.
Dan Nelson greeted members of the Seaside Chamber of Commerce, with designer Jody Whitehead Conser.
Originally in Astoria, in 2005 they moved to their current building on Roosevelt Drive in Seaside.
“When we came here, people wanting higher quality were driving to Portland,” Nelson said.
Business took off — increasing $1.5 million in the first year. “We still do a fair amount of work in Astoria, but it’s really great to be entrenched in here.”
Along with hearth products which compose about 30% of the business, “We do heat, hot water, forced air, boiler work — including steam boilers — we’re extremely diversified. The more challenging, the more we like it.”
The only thing Diamond doesn’t do, he said, is sheet metal work, “because White’s does such a great job with that.”
Fireplaces heat from 750 to 2,500 square feet, Whitehead Conser said. Heat can be controlled by remote applications. Consumers should consider efficiency and cost, when selecting a fireplace.
“You can burn in a burn ban, their emissions are so low,” Whitehead added.
Tankless water heaters and ductless systems are trending, as are hydrogen fuels, “where you literally put fuel in the furnace once in its life and it will regenerate.”
Diamond Heating is located at 1425 N. Roosevelt Drive; 503-717-1667.
