- Jason Johnson of Tonquin Trading Co. and Anne McBride, Seaside’s emergency preparedness coordinator share information on emergency routes and kits for kids.
Seaside’s firehouse and parking lot were busy with visitors Saturday, May 11, for the city’s annual safety fair.
Division fire chief Chris Dugan and firefighters greeted visitors of all ages for a demonstration of equipment, safety information and family fun. “Every year Safe Kids partners with all the agencies, Medix, Seaside Police, state police,” Dugan said. “All these agencies come together to promote safety in the community, everything from pedestrian safety to fire safety to poison safety to power. We even got Pacific Power with a display to talk about safety at power lines.”
The event happens once a year in Seaside, usually in May or June, he said, with a similar event held in the North County.
