Port, college board candidates come to Seaside

The Clatsop County Democrats are holding a candidate’s forum Saturday for contested races with the Clatsop Community College Board and Port of Astoria Commission. The forum begins at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bob Chisholm Community Center, 1225 Ave. A in Seaside.

The first panel of candidates includes incumbent Andrea Mazzarella and challenger Sara Meyer, both running for Zone 2, Position 2 seat on the on the college board. Zone 2 includes precincts 1-8, 29, 31, 36, 46 includes City of Astoria, John Day area, Lewis & Clark area, and Olney-Walluski areas.

Seaside is represented by Zone 3. 

The second panel is incumbent Bill Hunsinger and challenger Scott McClaine, both running for Position 3 on the Port Commission. The Port of Astoria positions are all at large. The only requirement is that they be a registered voter in the district, which is the full county.

Questions will be taken from the audience.
