The Coaster Theatre Playhouse has received the city of Cannon Beach’s Community Services Grant and the US Bank’s Community Grant to assist in tuition of our children’s art camps.
Each camp focuses on three common aspects of theatre arts: acting, singing and dancing. In addition to improving confidence and creativity, campers are exposed to teamwork, respect and unlimited imagination while creating a show and characters of their own.
Spring Break Camp will meet 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29. The theme will be “Beauty and the Beast.” Campers will explore the characters and plot lines from several different Beauty and the Beast stories and then create their own original mini-musical. Registration is now open for the Spring Break Camp. Registration forms are available at coastertheatre.com.
Summer Camp will meet 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19. The theme will be “Heroes and Villains.” Campers will explore various heroes and villains and the relationships between them while developing their own hero and villain characters. Registration for the Summer Camp will open on Wednesday, April 3. Forms will be available to download at coastertheatre.com
Both camps are available to students ages 8 through 12 or grades 3 through 6. The $135 tuition is covered by the Cannon Beach and US Bank Community Grants. There is a $50 activity fee.
