Laundry Love returns

A program to assist families struggling with the cost of doing laundry returned to Seaside this month.

Laundry Love partners with local laundromats in cleaning the clothes of those living in shelters, motels, cars, garages and on the streets.

Locally Laundry love is the second Saturday of the month at Seaside Laundry, now under the ownership of Juana Molina and Jose Luis Ponce.

Laundry Love is hosted by “At The Water’s Gate,” a local nonprofit, and funded by donations.

The Laundry Love initiative consists of regular opportunities to help people who are struggling financially by assisting them with doing their laundry. For those living below the poverty line, washing clothes presents both a logistical problem and a financial hardship.

This project is maintained by a local nonprofit, depending entirely on donations to provide services, hygiene products and other physical helps.
