Routine win over Molalla for No. 1 Seaside

SEASIDE — The Seaside Gulls scored their usual, routine blowout victory Friday night, 36-7 over Molalla at Broadway Field, in the first football meeting between the two teams since Molalla joined the Cowapa League.
The “runaway” candidate for state 4A Offensive Player of the Year, Seaside running back Alexander Teubner ran his season total to 1,131 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns, with four more scores and 171 yards on the ground against the Indians.
With 115 rushing attempts through six games, Teubner is averaging 9.8 yards per carry.
Seaside (6-0 overall) had Friday’s game locked up by halftime, 22-0, while the Gulls’ defense held Molalla to just 76 yards in total offense, and 1-for-12 on third-down conversions. Despite four turnovers, Seaside finished the game with 402 yards in total offense.
The Gulls were voted as the unanimous No. 1 team in last week’s coaches poll.
