Workshop helps businesses control online security

The Clatsop Community College Small Business Development Center hosts two cybersecurity workshops on Tuesday, Jan. 9, in Seaside from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and Astoria from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m..

Skip Newberry, President, and CEO of the Technology Association of Oregon will moderate a discussion with Lewis Howell, founder, and CEO of Hueya, Inc., a company that helps empower people to proactively take control of their online security and secure their digital world; enjoying social media and the Internet, but to do so in a way that minimizes risk and unwanted exposure.

Also on the panel is Leslie Golden, who has worked in technology for nearly 20 years, spanning the public and private sectors. Her specialization in information security and compliance drives her interest in helping organizations align their business strategy with the adoption of security best practices.

The Seaside workshop will be held at the Clatsop Community College South County Center at 1455 N. Roosevelt Drive. The Astoria workshop will be held at the Lexington Campus at 1651 Lexington Ave. in Towler Hall, Room 310. The cost is $20.
