Seaside soccer ranked No. 3

SEASIDE — After a scoreless first half, the No. 3-ranked Seaside Gulls were unstoppable in the second half, scoring three goals for a 3-0 win over Scappoose in a Cowapa League boys soccer game Oct. 5 at Broadway Field.
Seaside improved to 5-0-1 in the Cowapa standings, ahead of Valley Catholic (4-1-1). Seaside spent most of the second half on the Scappoose side of the field.
Henry Chapman scored the first goal, a bullet shot from 40 yards out; and a score by Chase Januik made it 2-0.
The Gulls tacked on one more, Nataneal Conrad scoring with 15 minutes left.
SEASIDE — In Cowapa League boys soccer action Oct. 3, first place Seaside topped last-place Banks, 8-0.
Seaside entered the game ranked No. 2 in the state at the 4A level, as the Gulls improve to 4-0-1 in league, 6-1-1 overall.
Seaside had all of its starters out of the game by halftime, in order to let some junior varsity players in on the action.
Goals were scored by Natanael Conrad, Christian Hernandez and Uly Corona.
Ranked 36th out of 40 teams in the OSAA rankings, the Braves drop to 1-7 overall, 0-5 in league.
TILLAMOOK — Seaside continues to close in on the state’s top ranking at the 4A level, as the Gulls scored another win Sept. 28, 2-0 at Tillamook.
The Gulls led nine seconds into the game, with Colton Carter scoring off an assist from Chase Januik.
Carter scored on another penalty kick for the second goal, as Seaside scored its third shutout win of the season.
