The 10th Annual Ducky Derby, sponsored by Clatsop Community Bank and KCRX 102.3 FM was held Saturday, June 10, at Quatat Park in Seaside. The event raised over $3,200 for Seaside Kids, Inc., and since 2009 has raised over $35,000 for the local nonprofit athletic program.

In addition to being the event’s title sponsor, Clatsop Community Bank awarded the grand prize of a $500 savings account to Barb Hassan, the owner of this year’s winning duck. Other prizes were awarded to runners-up. Clatsop Community Bank also presented a “duck hunt” promotion on the bank’s Facebook page in the weeks leading up to the event.

Seaside Kids is a nonprofit organization that raises money to provide free athletic programs for children in Seaside, Gearhart and Cannon Beach. It was organized more than 50 years ago and serves hundreds of local youth who participate in baseball, softball, football, golf and swimming programs at no charge.
