The Clatsop County Board of Commissioners transferred two properties to Seaside for a purchase price of $60,000.
The land, once owned by the Astoria & Columbia River Railroad Co., was acquired by the county through tax foreclosure in 1988 and will be added to adjacent Seaside Mill Ponds park land area.
“It makes a beautiful approach to the Mill Ponds,” Seaside City Councilor Jay Barber said in late September.
The 26.5-acre Mill Ponds are owned by the city and protected by the North Coast Land Conservancy as part of a 55-acre expanse of wetlands in the Neawanna Creek system.
